A new generation of biocontrol

There is more than one way to protect crops

We have a growing pipeline of microbial strains that has a talent for making life difficult for crop diseases.

And Nordic microbes have more than one trick up their sleeve. As biocontrol, they can protect crops through multiple mechanisms of action – from competing for space to the production of bioactive compounds.

With Nordic microbes, farmers will have effective biological tools for tackling crop diseases.

Our upcoming products have been tested in independent field trials where they have demonstrated strong performance against critical crop diseases.

Every crop needs a WINGMAN®

WINGMAN® is our microbial biofungicide developed to take on some of the diseases that give farmers the biggest headaches. It’s currently making its way through registration, with market launch expected in 2028.

WINGMAN® is under development as a foliar spray and seed treatment and has broad-spectrum antifungal activity. It has shown efficacy in independent field trials against major crop diseases including septoria, fusarium, brown rust, net blotch, potato late blight, alternaria, and many more. And as a bonus, the bacteria also has biostimulant properties, helping release phosphate and other nutrients that would otherwise remain bound in the soil.

WINGMAN® has shown disease reduction in third-party field trials conducted from 2022 to 2026 across major diseases in wheat, barley and potatoes.

A microbe with a rather impressive CV

WINGMAN® contains a new strain of bacteria that belongs to the Pseudomonas genus, which is found worldwide in soil and freshwater typically associated with plants. The specific and patent-pending bacterium in our biofungicide was isolated from Danish soil - right benath our feet.

Conventional chemical fungicides typically rely on one specific single-site biochemical target. Biofungicides, on the other hand, can display multiple and complex modes of action.

And WINGMAN® is no different. Discover the biofungicide's activity profile.

Products in the pipeline

WINGMAN® is our next biofungicide. We have two additional products in the pipeline although we cannot reveal much just yet:

TEAMMATE®

A seed treatment biofungicide for wheat, barley, and potatoes.

SPECIALIST®

An in-furrow treatment for maize and potatoes.
