Maize

SeedSpeed® can help your maize with phosphorous and potassium uptake.

Maize

Maize should be sown only when the soil temperature exceeds 8 degrees at 10 cm depth. Rapid emergence is therefore necessary due to the late sowing, and maize often benefits from starter fertilisation to achieve this. SeedSpeed® can help with this.

SeedSpeed® contains bacteria that release phosphorus and potassium from the soil, increasing the nutrient uptake from the start, boosting early growth.

In 2023, we conducted row trials with SeedSpeed® on maize in our own fields without fertilisation. The maize was sown at the end of April. In early June, plant height was measured, and the SeedSpeed® treated maize was 41% taller than the untreated control maize.

In August, chlorophyll content was measured, and the SeedSpeed® treated maize had 20% higher chlorophyll content in the leaves than the untreated maize. At harvest in late August, the SeedSpeed® treated maize yield was 41% higher than the yield of untreated maize.
